SCOPE OF PRACTICE:

Energy medicine is for the purpose of promoting awareness, relaxation, increased energy flow, clarity and balanced energy. It assists clients with health building and well-being. You are the recipient of the energy work, but also the co-creator of your journey. Your input will be required in the way of goal setting, self reflection, candid dialogue with the practitioner and home practices to support the transformation you are seeking.

The practitioner is not a licensed health care professional, and does not diagnose or provide medical treatment for any disease or disorder. The practitioner will not provide medical advice, other than to make a referral to a medical professional when appropriate. Energy medicine is not a substitute for medical care, medical examinations or diagnosis. Energy medicine serves as a complementary and alternative modality to health care services. Whenever possible, the practitioner will refer clients to other professionals for issues beyond her scope of practice.

The client is responsible for providing accurate and up to date information on past and present medical and mental health conditions. Medical information is gathered by the practitioner for the following purposes:

  • To advise the practitioner of any areas of sensitivity in the mind or body

  • To help the practitioner assess the balance of energetic elements in the body

  • To help the practitioner make informed choices about the course of the client’s sessions

EFFECTS OF ENERGY WORK:

The effects of energy-based modalities can vary from person to person, as well as the number of sessions that are needed in order to achieve the client’s goals. The practitioner will do everything within her skill set to achieve results, but cannot guarantee any results. An ongoing and open dialogue between the practitioner and client is required in order to assess the effectiveness of sessions.

Some clients may experience uncomfortable side effects after a session, such as fatigue, increased emotions or increased symptoms. These side effects are normal and can last for up to 48 hours. If discomfort lasts longer than 48 hours, please consult your family physician and notify your practitioner. In these rare cases, the practitioner may recommend other forms of treatment.

Because treatments address the body’s energy, it is important to avoid chemicals and situations that disrupt energy flow before and after a session. For 12 hours before and after a session, please avoid any altering substances such as alcohol, recreational drugs and excessive caffeine. Also after a session, avoid hot baths, heavy meals, sex and strenuous activity. For best results, it is advised to schedule time for total rest after an energy medicine session.

RESERVATION & CANCELLATION POLICY:

Sessions may be booked online, or directly with the practitioner. Payment is taken at the time of booking and sessions are charged in full. Sessions that are extended, by agreement of both the client and practitioner, will be charged $25 per 15 minute increments. New clients are provided with a brief intake form to fill out prior to their scheduled session.

Please provide 24 hours notice of cancelling an appointment. If the cancellation is made on time, your payment will be refunded in full. Late cancellations will result in a charge for half of the session. No shows are charged for the full price of the session.

Appointment confirmations are provided by e-mail as a courtesy, but you are solely responsible for holding your appointment time. We ask that you arrive and be ready for your session at the time it is scheduled. Please notify us of a late arrival. Sessions will be shortened due to late arrivals, and the full charge for the session will apply. We allow a 15 minute grace period, and after that, your appointment is considered a no-show.

LONG DISTANCE SESSIONS:

For long distance work, the practitioner will call you at the designated time. If you do not answer, a message will be left and you should return the call as soon as possible, keeping in mind that if a session begins late, it will be shortened.

You will need to be in a location where you can sit or lie quietly, preferably alone with minimal distraction (pets are ok to have around). Please avoid any kind of screen time during a session, including, phone, computer, tablet or TV.

Sometimes, the practitioner may hang up with the client in order to do portions of the energy work. After the work is completed, a second call is made to discuss the work with the client. At times, a client may not hear the phone, or may have fallen asleep during the session. If the practitioner is unable to reach you, an e-mail summary of the session will be sent in lieu of a follow up call. If you wish to go over the e-mail notes with the practitioner, an additional short session time may be booked directly with the practitioner and will be charged in 15 minute increments.

Clients are encouraged to take notes during their distance session. Session notes can also be summarized and and e-mailed to you for an additional $25 charge.

CLIENT RIGHTS:

Clients have the right to complete and current information concerning their sessions. Clients have the right to access their records.

All transactions, client contact information and client records are confidential unless the release of these records is authorized in writing by the client or otherwise provided by law. Privacy of the client is respected even in cases when the session is a gift from another individual. Privacy practices apply to clients who are 16 years of age or older. The only information that will be reported is if an individual shares intent to cause harm to oneself or to another individual. In this case, authorities will be notified.

Please note, the practitioner may discuss anonymous client cases with professional peers, educators or students for the purpose of continuing education or to seek additional perspectives. A consent form will be required in order to share client information with any other provider.

In the case that the practitioner is no longer available to provide services, a referral may be made to another similar practitioner, when available, upon the client’s request.
